Day 4. Time to choose a data center
This morning, I received a message from an investor informing me that tomorrow he will have a definite result regarding the decision on my business proposal. As this delays the possibility of acquiring all the necessary resources for another day, today I will choose a data center and potential domain registrars to create our web hosting infrastructure.
When it comes to registrars, there are distinct options available, as we already know that ICANN owns all domains. Our choice of registrar will depend on factors such as prices, preferences, and the user-friendliness of its platform.
The situation becomes more complex when it comes to servers and data centers. While the characteristics are clear, there are concerns about the response time in case of issues. This factor is crucial, as even the system administrator may not be able to intervene if the server malfunctions. In selecting the best and most reputable data centers worldwide in 2024, my criteria include:
- Favorable pricing.
- Support from the technical team.
- Availability of applications and additional services from the beginning.
To choose a data center – this is a challenging task, but it is a crucial step that should be completed.
